Skycraft Training Courses

Skycraft offer training courses for Jabiru owners and maintenance engineers at very competitive prices.

All courses are up to date to comply with the latest build changes and service bulletins for your Jabiru engine. We are the only training centre in the UK to offer this service at a sensible price.

There will be 3 levels of course offered.

Skycraft have very good local amenities for those wishing to bed and breakfast, or we can collect from Fenland Airfield EGCL for those wishing to fly in to the course.

Course instructor is Dave Almey (the only resident in the UK to have attended the full Jabiru engine course in Australia) Dave is an LAA & BGA inspector and Skycraft's chief engine overhaul man.

Level 1:- Basic Engine Maintenance

This course includes but is not limited to:-

50 hour service which includes:-

• Correct selection of spares & lubricants

• Oil leaks, spotting and the causes

• Changing the oil, oil filter, spark plugs, rotor arms and caps

• Checking and setting tappets (solid lifter engines)

• Re-torque cylinder heads

• Checking and setting coil gaps

• Checking coil magnet strength

• Checking and changing carb rubber

• Lifed item servicing and replacement

• Checking propeller alignment and condition

• Checking spinner condition

• Leak down or compression check

Also basic fault finding including:-

• Checking coil electrically

• Checking alternator & voltage regulator

• Checking and changing engine mount rubbers

• Basic carburetor maintenance and adjustment

• Changing exhaust gaskets

• Changing induction rubbers

Along with Need to know SB & MPD issues.

Then any Q&A's

The level 1 course is available for £100 per person, payable in advance and the course is non refundable.

Level 1 is restricted to 4 people at one time and will run 10:00 - 16:00 over one day.

Level 2:- Engine Top End Overhaul

If you are interested in the level 2 course, please note that you must have completed the level 1 course.

The level 2 course is available for £200 per person, payable in advance and the course is non refundable.

Level 2 is restricted to 3 people at one time and will run 10:00 - 16:00 over one day.

Level 3:- Engine Bottom End Overhaul

If you are interested in the level 3 course, please note that you must have completed the level 1 and level 2 courses.

The level 3 course is available for £300 per person, payable in advance and the course is non refundable.

Level 3 is restricted to 3 people at one time and will run 10:00 - 16:00 over 2 days.
